So this is a little off-base for what we usually write about, but it didn’t fall into our usual categories. This will be more of a brief chat like piece than a review. So without further ado, let me tell you a little bit about Project Child: Origins!
“Hidden from the sight of ordinary people, Knight Agents under the mysterious Directorate fight biblical demons with the power of the mystical Psy Spark. Agent Derek Knowell, a highly-skilled champion of the Directorate, uncovers a sinister plot that has him questioning his allegiance.”
Project Child: Origins is a new episodic web series from Robin Deeter, author of Project Child: Awakening, starring former Playboy Playmates Irina Voronina, Raquel Pomplun and Pamela Horton. If you caught our Facebook live a few weeks back you will remember that myself and our PR guy Kevin attended their launch party in Hollywood where we got a few interviews with some of their cast. It’s a great premise, and we were really excited for it, but unfortunately the preview clip they showed us didn’t live up to the expectations for a project with this kind of team on board.
Don’t get me wrong, it can absolutely do great, if they can fix the issues that plagued it in the preview. The sound felt more like a YouTube fan film, then a professional production. I don’t know if they were using the built in mic on their camera or if they scrubbed it too much in post but the sound was the big problem. The action was thrilling, and interesting. They’re using their own style of martial arts for this which is a first for me. Generally, an already existing style is used instead of creating your own by essentially merging different styles. Of course we have to give them points for effort! I look forward to seeing how their custom martial arts style works out.
They’re using Crowdfunding to try and raise enough funds to make this project a reality. Unfortunately it’s all or nothing with Kickstarter and it looks like they’re not going to make it. Hopefully they will find some other method of funding because I really want to see this come to fruition.
Best of luck Project Child team!
