News: Flappy Bird Pulled because it was too addictive?!

This comes across as a shock in the gaming industry. We’re talking about a very successful game pulled for its hook. Don’t believe us? We’ll let the creator explain it for himself.

The 29 year old, Vietnamese developer finally gives his reason for pulling a recent popular game on mobile called Flappy Bird. According to creator Dong Nguyen:

“Flappy Bird was designed to play in a few minutes when you are relaxed, but it happened to become an addictive product. I think it has become a problem. To solve that problem, it’s best to take down Flappy Bird. It’s gone forever.”

Allegedly the game was bringing in a good $50,000 worth of ad revenue, but it has yet been determined. Nguyen stated that “it was a lot though”. When asked if he might consider bringing it back or if pulling it was a mistake, he said this:

“My life has not been as comfortable as I was before, I couldn’t sleep. I don’t think it’s a mistake. I have thought it through.

The young developer also added that he isn’t through with games so long as they don’t cause the same level of problems.
