Believe it or not, Cliff Bleszinski of Epic Games is saying his goodbyes to the company he help changed after 20 years. According to sources, Bleszinski has decided to take a rest before going to the “Next Stage” in his career. It’s very hard to see one of Epic Games’ own leave a company, especially when the person was partly the face of the company that made “Gears of War” and other icons in the gaming world.
For those of you who might not know who he is, Cliff Bleszinski is very well known in the gaming community. Often seen as the “Rockstar” of gaming, Bleszinski was well known to be a great preacher of the Unreal Engine, as well as be the Spokesperson for games such as “Gears of War”, the “Unreal” series, and much more. Here’s Bleszinski’s comment on leaving Epic Games:
“I’ve been doing this since I was a teenager, and outside of my sabbatical last year, I have been going non-stop.” He continues “I literally grew up in this business, as Mike (Mike Capps, President of Epic Games) likes to say, and now that I’m grown up,it’s time for a much needed break.”
It is unclear which direction Bleszinski’s career might go, but one thing is for certain, most, if not all gaming community would like to thank him for being part of an ever changing environment and he would be a symbol for those in the future to shape the industry.
